I met Geraldine this evening on O'Connell Street in Limerick. She was in the process of painting a watercolour of the shop front of Leonards Menswear. She had been commissioned to paint it in colour after somebody had seen a black and white sketch she had done previously. She allowed me to have a look and I was amazed aat how intricate it was. Not only was the tiny lettering of the shop's signage perfect, but it even had shadows! I had a lovely conversation with her about art in general and the pros and cons of doing it for a living. She said that it would take many hours to complete the painting and that she would be back over the next few days to finish it.
